Free from the chain of labour...

As i woke up today at 1230,i knew i was going to be late for work.My shift starts at 1400 today, and since i woke up so late,i gave SDO a call to told them i am taking MC.To my shock, they said they were looking for me.I was wondering what they were looking for me for. They got another officer to talk to me and i was totally unprepared for what he was about to tell me.He told me tomorrow would be my last day of work,i didn't catch his meaning, and told i was planning to work til end of jan before quitting. Then he told me that all TOA (temp operation assistant) last day of work would be tml.Couldn't believing what i just heard,i ask him if that means our contract with SATS is coming to an end,to which he replied yes.He gave me the number of the human resources, where i have to resolved with them about my airport pass and my pay.

After that call,i was jolted awaked.I was planning to go back to sleep after the call, but i couldn't went back to sleep after knowing that i have my last day of work ALREADY.For tomorrow is my off day, today was supposed to be my last work of day,i call for MC cos i am too lazy to get up and hurry to work.I started thinking what i would do,for i have been working since Sept.Tho for the first two and a half months,i was working as a clerk,it was really the TOA job that i enjoy and would misses the most.I have only work as a TOA for 3 weeks, but i wouldn't forget the people the chair the couch. Most of all,the job allows me to roam freely around in the terminal, and meeting all kinds of people from all over the world.

Val once told me "It isn't like you are knowing them, you are just standing there smiling and greeting them"

Tho i doesn't know them or become a friend of them, but i am happy to meet those people already. The joy of meeting graceful people and of cos the dread of meeting rudeful people, they are all part of the job and how you view them.

I would miss this job in years to come, tho i have been enlisted into the army not far from now.Maybe compared to my last two jobs,a clerk and an apprentice at a motor shop,TOA was a more enjoyable job.I also have learnt some people skills, interaction skill with other people from TOA as i met hundreds, thousand of passengers per day.

All in all,i am grateful that i have the chance to work as a TOA.But a pity all great things come to an end.

*preparing for the future*
